Inner Beauty......What's That?

Every young girl or woman is considered beautiful in her own way. It may be that she focuses on her outer beauty or she is noticed for her compassion for others. Regardless of what they choose to focus on, God tells us what true beauty really is. The bible says in Psalm 139:14 “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Unfortunately I am sad to say that most girls, young ladies or women don’t know or realize What God says or think about them. His word also says in 1Samuel 16:7 ““Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.” With that scripture and others we automatically know that the inner beauty is more important because God says it in His word. All the positive that emanates from the heart is considered your inner beauty. But why do the media, society and girly magazine put so much emphasis on the outer. They emphasize the outer beauty because to know real beauty is to know God and His Son Jesus Christ. Your total beauty consists of your God given inner and outer beauty. Both need to be embraced to have balance. God’s word also states in 1 Peter 3:3-4 “Do not let your adorning be external—the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear— but let your adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. So we need balance but our inner beauty is what emanates from within a glorious light that can be seen, perceived and marveled, it is the light of Jesus Christ.

The outer beauty is considered the physical aspect of a person including the facial features, body structure, and hair and skin condition. The outer beauty also includes girls trying to keep up with the fashion trends weather they be good or bad. They think being popular, well liked, and pressured to look like everyone else is beautiful. The media does play a big part in the false notion of what true beauty really is. The media, society and girly magazines push them into thinking the outer beauty defines them and is the idea of beauty, which is false and unattainable. They lead the girls to think that you have to be thin and physically beautiful to be somebody and to be respected. They make them forget to look beyond themselves, become self centered, superficial, and think it is all about them. In essence they begin to believe that if they are pretty enough, popular enough just maybe they will fit in. These girls demeanor are lead by if they have a bad hair day, if they have a breakout on their face, or if they happen to get a run in their stockings, you see them become so flustered and self conscience just because of superficial physical mishaps. Let’s be real here and say that they are not defined by their outer appearance or beauty.

Real beauty is lasting beauty that emanated from within. When you became a child of God by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Spirit of the living God dwells within you. Therefore you begin to take on the characteristics of God. Inner Beauty is where the encouragement, enlightening, and empowering traits of God are manifested and will produce passion, purpose, and possibilities. Inner Beauty exuberates compassion, empathy, and service of others. It is where character, integrity and morals manifest themselves into your life. Inner Beauty reveals self esteem, confidence, courage, poise, elegance, empowers you to be responsible in giving back. Inner Beauty comes from your heart, where the spirit of the living God dwells, that defines you.

Every girl is unique and should embrace their uniqueness in beauty whether inner or outer. Focusing on your strengths, loving what you see in the mirror will fill you up with confidence and empowerment. You have God given gifts, talents, traits and personality inside you. Celebrate the total you and embrace the total you but don’t be defined by the outer beauty be defined by the inner beauty. Your uniqueness had been designed by God Himself, whether chubby bunny, skinny Minnie, tinny whinny, giant or squirt. God tells us to love your neighbor as yourself, because if you don't love yourself how can you be selfless and love and do for others.Fall in love with yourself and celebrate The Love God has given you to share so others will know God and come to know how fearfully and wonderfully they are made and that the inner man is being renewed day by day. Go ahead and enjoy the life God has blessed you with and have fun and enjoy the journey designed just for you and discover the Inner Beauty within you and begin perfecting it by reading God's word to lead to a more positive impact on your life. Live out the dreams and goals God has just for you already inside you. The Beauty in your heart will reflect outward the qualities of God revealing who you really are.
